Season’s Greetings from Eurobitume
“On behalf of the Eurobitume team, I would like to thank our members and industry partners for their valuable support throughout 2025 and to wish everyone a happy, healthy, and successful 2026. In times of significant global change, may our lives and our society be as resilient as bitumen”

Looking back
2025 was once again a very busy and exciting year for Eurobitume. On behalf of our members, we continued to work to fulfil our Vision and Mission, reinforcing our role as the voice of the European bitumen industry.
Education remained a central pillar of our activities. We delivered a comprehensive programme of bitumen-related educational initiatives for both members and external industry stakeholders. To date, we have organised more than 40 online webinars. In 2025 alone, these included five “open to all” educational webinars, four members-only webinars, and four Eurobitume–academia webinars, which were also exclusive to members.
The Eurobitume–academia webinars, in particular, continue to provide a valuable platform for exchange between industry and academia. These sessions bring together university academics and industry professionals to share cutting-edge research, technical insights, and best practices in bitumen, asphalt, and pavement engineering. To discover the full range of benefits Eurobitume offers, we invite you to explore the new dedicated section on our website.
The Eurobitume extensive engagement in sharing knowledge about bitumen was complemented by the publication of 14 new and revised safety, sustainability, and technical documents, reflecting our continued commitment to transparency and best practice across the sector. All publications are available in the dedicated publications section of the Eurobitume website.
Another notable highlight of 2025 was the launch of Eurobitume’s eagerly anticipated Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) Report 4.0 as part of our extensive programme of bitumen sustainability-related activities. The LCA Report 4.0 provides important life cycle data for the paving grade bitumen most widely used in Europe, enabling the accurate calculation of the environmental impact of manufactured end-products that incorporate bitumen. To further support knowledge sharing and accessibility, the recording of the LCA Report 4.0 launch webinar is also available online, with subtitles in Spanish, French, Italian, and German here.
2025 also brought changes within the Eurobitume team, with Hervé Millet appointed as Director General, succeeding Siobhan McKelvey, and Sofia Vuillemin joining Eurobitume in the newly created role of Communications Officer, strengthening our communications and stakeholder engagement capabilities.
Looking ahead
Bitumen sustainability will remain a key focus area for Eurobitume in 2026, notably with the development and publication of the decarbonisation and sustainability Roadmap of our industry. In parallel, a robust programme of education and communication activities is planned across the HSE and Technical fields.
A central highlight of the year will be the E&E Event. Interest in the 3rd E&E Event, themed “Perspectives from the Asphalt and Bitumen Sector” and taking place on 11–12 June 2026 in Vienna, is already high. Early Bird delegate registrations are being taken up quickly, alongside strong demand for sponsorship opportunities and exhibition space.
Concluding the year, Hervé commented:
“On behalf of the entire Eurobitume team, I would like to wish you and your families a festive year-end and I look forward to an even more productive new Year”
