Registration Now Open for Eurobitume’s 9th “Open to All” Webinar: Bitumen Chemistry

Eurobitume is pleased to announce that registration is now open for the ninth edition of our free, external educational webinar series. This latest session entitled Bitumen Chemistry will take place on Wednesday 4th June 2025, from 14:00 to 15:00 CEST (13:00–14:00 UK time).

As part of Eurobitume’s ongoing commitment to knowledge-sharing and education across the bitumen value chain, this “Open to All” webinar will explore the complex chemistry behind one of the construction industry’s most versatile materials.

This one-hour session will be delivered by Eurobitume technical expert: Ian Lancaster and will introduce participants to the fundamental chemical characteristics of bitumen. Topics covered will include:

  • What bitumen is from a chemical perspective
  • Structural models used to describe bitumen composition
  • Methods for fractionation and chemical analysis
  • Bitumen ageing processes and the chemistry of adhesion

The webinar is designed to provide accessible and relevant information for a wide audience, whether you work directly in the industry or are simply interested in understanding more about this essential construction material, this session will provide valuable insights.
