Season’s Greetings from Eurobitume: Working together with one voice
2024 has been another busy and exciting year for Eurobitume, working as a fully integrated organisation with one voice across Europe. It was also a year for showcasing our industry at the successful “Resilience – Innovation – Sustainability”-themed 8th E&E Congress, which took place in June in Budapest.
“On behalf of the whole Eurobitume team, I would like to thank our members, stakeholders and industry partners for all their active support and energy during the last 12 months”, stated Eurobitume Director General Siobhan McKelvey.
Since 1st January 2024, Eurobitume has been structured and operating as a more efficient and effective single organisation speaking with a strong voice on behalf of our members. We now have three functional leads – Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) Lead Dr Anja Sörensen, Technical Lead Dr Ian Lancaster and Sustainability Lead Dr Brice Delaporte, who joined the team on the 3rd June.
We continued to develop our education activities and during 2024 we maintained our much-appreciated series of external, ‘open to all’ educational webinars and internal, members-only webinars – both of which attracted high numbers of participants eager to learn more about bitumen.
2025 promises to be another year full of industry challenges, stakeholder education and communication activities in HSE, Technical, and a continued strong focus on Sustainability.
Siobhan concluded: “On behalf of the team at Eurobitume, I wish you and your families a well-deserved holiday period at the end of a busy year. I hope you are able to make time to relax and enjoy the festivities and we look forward to working with you all again in the New Year.”
