Roads roundtable in the UK
Eurobitume Technical Lead and Focal Person for the UK Dr Ian Lancaster, who is also a Director of the Asphalt Industry Alliance (AIA), a partnership between Eurobitume and the Mineral Products Association, provided expert industry input at a recent roundtable discussion at the Houses of Parliament in London, where road sector stakeholders and MPs discussed innovation, challenges facing the local road network and potential future solutions.
The event provided an excellent opportunity for Ian to share data from the AIA’s 2025 ALARM (Annual Local Authority Road Maintenance) survey, which Eurobitume supports, and to discuss funding mechanisms – with the aim of helping shift the conversation from short-term fixes to sustainable, long-term solutions.
