With both companies bringing complementary expertise from key stages of the bitumen value chain, transport and application, their addition reflects a growing recognition of the value of shared knowledge, standards, and collaboration across the sector.

Eurobitume Director General Siobhan McKelveycommented this new addition: “I am delighted to welcome PEAB  and Schenk UK to the Eurobitume family. Their direct involvement brings valuable expertise from two important areas of the bitumen value chain: transport and end application. Their decision to join reflects the continued relevance and benefit of Eurobitume work to promote the safe, sustainable, and efficient use of bitumen across Europe. We look forward to their contributions as we continue to advance our shared goals.”

Bjørn B. Lauritzen, General Manager for Bitumen and Oil at PEAB, added:  “As a key player in the Nordic infrastructure sector, joining Eurobitume allows us to stay connected with developments across the wider European bitumen industry. We see real value in contributing to shared goals around quality, sustainability, and innovation, and look forward to collaborating with other members to support the safe and effective use of bitumen in construction.

Schenk’s Head of Energies, David Heath, explained why his company wanted to join Eurobitume: “Schenk UK is one of the largest UK hauliers of Bitumen and Emulsions working directly with key industry partners including some core members within Eurobitume. We have 100 employees working in the delivery of this product and want to have access to the trade association Eurobitume to ensure best in class standards on safety health processes and procedures and environmental considerations are adhered to develop within the industry and within Schenk UK Ltd.”
