Eurobitume produces the first Biomaterials Terminology document

The use of biomaterials is an increasingly important area of innovation and sustainability-driven development for bitumen, a fundamental and versatile construction material. However, until now there was no reference document describing these biomaterials and providing the valuable clarity required by our members and bitumen industry stakeholders.

Eurobitume’s latest guidance document, Recommended Terminology for Biomaterials in Bituminous Binders, is the first publication in the world to provide this important information.

Produced followingwork by Eurobitume’s Technical Committee, HSE Committee and Bitumen Sustainability Steering Group, Recommended Terminology for Biomaterials in Bituminous Binders contains references to peer-reviewed papers and reflects the views of our members. This is the first stage in proposing and then setting up a biomaterial concentration-based classification system for bituminous binders containing biomaterials.

Part of Eurobitume’s comprehensive suite of information and guidance documents, Recommended Terminology for Biomaterials in Bituminous Binders can be downloaded for free from the Publications page of the Eurobitume website.
