Eurobitume LCA Report 4.0 presentation in Spain
At the recent 20th National Conference of ASEFMA (Asociación Española de Fabricantes de Mezclas Asfálticas), held in Madrid on the 4th and 5th of November 2025, Eurobitume Bitumen Sustainability Steering Group member, Dr José María Moreno Rodríguez (Moeve) presented Eurobitume’s latest bitumen life cycle assessment (LCA) report – Eurobitume LCA Report 4.0 (2025).

Asphalt and bitumen industry stakeholders from Spain and abroad attended this important annual event, which this year focused on ASEFMA’s guiding theme: “Competitiveness and sustainability are not an oxymoron in asphalt paving.” The conference highlighted ASEFMA’s ongoing commitment to uniting sustainability and competitiveness in the asphalt industry through innovation, digitalisation, and environmental responsibility.
Within the session entitled “Data and practical uses of life cycle assessments,” Dr Moreno explained the results of the report and highlighted that because Eurobitume LCA 4.0 was developed in accordance with ISO 14040 and 14044, Life Cycle Inventory (LCI) practitioners can incorporate its data as part of a construction product life cycle assessment.
With outputs compatible with European Standard EN15804+A2, Eurobitume LCA Report 4.0 is also suitable for use in future Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs) for construction products and can be downloaded from the Eurobitume website by clicking here.
To explain the results of the LCA Report 4.0, Eurobitume has also produced a webinar which is available with French, German, Italian and Spanish subtitles and can be downloaded from the Eurobitume website by clicking here.
