Eurobitume was pleased to welcome over 110 participants to its New Year’s Reception 2026, held on 22 January 2026 at the Maison des Travaux Publics in Paris. The second part of the programme focused on regulatory and technical developments relevant to the road sector. Claude Giorgi (Eiffage), speaking on behalf of Routes de France, shared the conclusions concerning the development of a rapid test method to determine the emissive character of bitumen, while Stéphane Lavaud from Université Gustave Eiffel shared research progress on alternative and innovative binders. Finally, Sébald Turpin (Routes de France) addressed the question of the accounting of the biogenic carbon in road infrastructure and biomaterials, including measurement before and after ageing of binders and asphalt mixtures.
The formal programme concluded with remarks from Fabrice Blanc, President of Eurobitume, who underlined the association’s mission to address the full range of challenges facing the bitumen industry through scientific evidence, transparent communication, and collaboration across the entire value chain. He also invited participants to attend the upcoming E&E Event taking place on the 11th and 12th of June in Vienna.
Participants then moved to the reception, where the informal setting provided an opportunity to continue discussions, exchange perspectives, and strengthen professional connections.
