Early positive feedback for Eurobitume’s 12th ‘Open to all’ webinar on Performance Testing
Early feedback about Eurobitume’s latest ‘Open to all’ educational webinar, on Performance Testing, can be illustrated by one participant’s testimony / appreciation shared through the survey: “As usual, what a great webinar! Thank you Ian!”

More than 80 participants joined the session on 4 March, marking the 12th external webinar in Eurobitume’s educational series launched in 2022. As with previous editions, the webinar was designed to provide both technical and non-technical stakeholders with an introduction to the concepts of rheology and performance-based testing.
Webinar presenter Dr Ian Lancaster, Eurobitume Technical Lead, first introduced the current bitumen specifications and commonly used empirical test methods, including penetration (EN 1426) and softening point (EN 1427), as well as ageing procedures such as RTFOT and TFOT.
The presentation then focused on how performance-related testing and rheological characterisation can help better understand binder behaviour under real service conditions, taking into account factors such as temperature, loading conditions and ageing.
A recording of the Performance Testing webinar will soon be available on the Education and Training page of our website.
We also encourage you to explore other webinar recordings and resources in the Publications section, where additional materials are available in several languages to complement concepts shared during the webinar, such as the Technical Information Sheets on RTFOT.
The next ‘Open to all’ webinar is scheduled for 29 April and will focus on Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) for Polymer Modified Bitumen (PMB). More information will be shared soon.
