Annika Girod

Marketing Director and Eurobitume Public Relations and Communications Committee Chair

“Eurobitume helps translate technical expertise into clear and credible industry messages.”

A great deal of technical expertise is developed through Eurobitume’s committees and working groups. Ensuring that this knowledge is communicated clearly and effectively is essential for the industry.

As Chair of Eurobitume’s PRC Committee, I work to translate complex technical and scientific work into clear messages for policymakers, stakeholders and the wider public.

By helping explain the outcomes of projects across areas such as safety, sustainability and technical standards, we ensure that the industry’s work is understood and that discussions about bitumen are based on accurate and reliable information.

Giampaolo Fenati

R&D, Technology, Engineering & Investments Manager and Shipping Manager at Alma Petroli and Eurobitume Technical Committee Chair

“Through Eurobitume, we don’t just follow industry developments — we help shape them.”

Being a Eurobitume member gives us direct access to expertise and insight on the technical issues shaping our industry.

As Chair of Eurobitume’s Technical Committee, I work with colleagues from across the sector to review and develop technical guidance and industry standards. This collaboration allows us to share knowledge, challenge assumptions and ensure that the standards we develop are practical and robust.

This involvement helps strengthen Alma Petroli’s technical capabilities and contributes to the long-term performance and credibility of bitumen across Europe.

Markus Spiegl

Advisor Pricing & Business Development Black Products at OMV Downstream and Eurobitume Board Member

Eurobitume gives the bitumen industry a strong, unified voice.

As a former President of Eurobitume, I have seen first-hand the value the association brings to its members and to the wider industry.

For OMV, membership means being part of an organisation that represents the industry with a unified voice on key technical, regulatory and sustainability issues.

Serving on the board provides the opportunity to contribute to the strategic direction of the association and ensure the industry is effectively represented. In this context, I have also had the opportunity to present Eurobitume’s Life Cycle Assessment  (LCA) at industry events, helping share the association’s research and insights with a wider audience.

Ola Mossblad

Nynas AS Operations Manager and Eurobitume Bitumen Safe Handling Sub-Committee Chair

“Through Eurobitume, we help raise safety standards for bitumen handling across the industry.”

At Nynas we see Eurobitume membership as a practical way to strengthen safety across our industry.

As Chair of Eurobitume’s Bitumen Safe Handling Sub-Committee, I work with colleagues from across the sector to review operational experience and develop guidance on the safe handling, transport and application of bitumen.

While this guidance is publicly available, membership allows companies to actively contribute to its development and share real-world experience. For Nynas, this collaboration helps us continuously improve our own safety practices while raising safety standards across the industry.

Olivier Moglia

Bitumen Product Development Manager at TotalEnergies and Eurobitume Bitumen Sustainability Steering Group Chair

Eurobitume ensures the sustainability of bitumen is supported by robust scientific evidence.

Advancing sustainability in our industry requires credible data, collaboration and a shared commitment to continuous improvement.

Through Eurobitume, member companies work together to develop initiatives that strengthen the environmental profile of bitumen.

As Chair of Eurobitume’s Bitumen Sustainability Steering Group, I collaborate with colleagues from across the industry on projects that provide robust, science-based evidence regarding the sustainability of bitumen.

One important example is the development of Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) data, which helps quantify the environmental impact of bitumen. This work is essential not only for improving transparency, but also for ensuring that policymakers and stakeholders have accurate information about the role bitumen plays in sustainable infrastructure.

Sergio Bovo

Alma Petroli CEO and Eurobitume Vice-President

“Eurobitume is the ultimate advocate for bitumen.”

Eurobitume plays role of strategic importance in representing the interests of the bitumen industry to policymakers and stakeholders across Europe.

As Eurobitume Vice President I have had the opportunity to contribute to this work and to represent the industry at national and international events. These discussions help ensure that the role of bitumen in infrastructure and the challenges facing our sector are clearly understood.

For companies like Alma Petroli, Eurobitume provides a collective platform to address issues that go beyond the scope of individual organisations and to support the long-term credibility of our industry.
