Eurobitume confirms new leadership team and outlines priorities at 2026 Spring General Meeting
Eurobitume’s Spring General Meeting, held online on 15 April 2026, brought together members to review progress across key work areas, confirm new executive appointments, and discuss priorities for the year ahead.

A central outcome of the meeting was the appointment of new Association’s Leadership Team. Sergio Bovo, CEO of Alma Petroli, was elected President, succeeding Fabrice Blanc. Sergio Bovo previously served as Eurobitume Vice President and now assumes the presidency for a one-year term.
Speaking about his appointment, Sergio said:
“I am honoured to have been elected President of Eurobitume and to take on this role at a time when our industry is pivotal to delivering safe, sustainable, and resilient infrastructure. Bitumen plays a vital role not only in road construction but also across a wide range of applications that support Europe’s mobility and economy. Together with our members, we will continue to drive innovation and responsible practices across the sector.”
Johanna Andreasson was appointed Vice President, while Jean-Nicolas Desprez was re-elected as Treasurer. An 11-member Board of Directors was also confirmed, representing both core and associate member companies.
Committee updates and ongoing work
A significant part of the meeting focused on updates from Eurobitume’s main committees, reflecting recent months’ activities and setting priorities for the year ahead.
Anja Soërensen outlined ongoing work of the Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) Committee on industry safety practices and regulatory engagement. Mickaël Lombard (TotalEnergies) was welcomed as the new Chair (following a period when the committee operated without a formal Chair).
The Safe Handling of Bitumen Sub-Committee, led by Ola Mossblad, reported on ongoing efforts to promote safe operational practices, with Mossblad re-elected for a further 2-years term.
Other committee leadership positions remain unchanged, with updates provided by:
- Annika Girod on the Public Relations and Communications (PRC) Committee
- Giampaolo Fenati on the Technical Committee
- Olivier Moglia on the work of the Bitumen Safety and Sustainability Steering Group
Industry insights and organisational developments
The meeting also included an overview by Reed Ryan (President of Asphalt Institute) of developments and studies carried out by bitumen industry in the United States of America. .
Members were also updated on internal developments, including the introduction of a new intranet platform to improve collaboration and information sharing across the association.
Eurobitume also welcomed Greenergy, a UK-based logistics service provider, as a new member.
Looking ahead
Fabrice Blanc closed the meeting by thanking members for their continued engagement and contributions during his presidency while Hervé Millet gave them appointment at the upcoming Eurobitume E&E Event in Vienna in June.
