Eurobitume expert addresses international conference in Athens
On Wednesday May 20th, Eurobitume Sustainability Lead Dr Brice Delaporte spoke about the key challenges facing the bitumen industry in Europe at the recent Argus Bitumen & Asphalt Europe Conference in Athens.

Addressing an international audience of bitumen and asphalt industry stakeholders, contractors, specifiers, sector and local authorities, Brice outlined the key sustainability issues faced by bitumen suppliers and explained how the new Construction Production Regulation affect the declaration of environmental performance for bitumen and the future standardisation framework.
He also shared important details about Eurobitume’s recently published Life Cycle Assessment for Polymer Modified Bitumen (PMB). With PMB widely used in road construction to improve pavement performance, particularly under heavy traffic and in varying temperatures, Eurobitume developed the Eurobitume LCA for PMB to provide robust environmental data that will support future product evaluations and enable more consistent environmental comparisons.
To help organisations make the best use of the Eurobitume Life Cycle Assessment for PMB, Eurobitume organised an educational webinar where the key findings were presented and the role of PMB in sustainable road infrastructure was discussed. A recording of this webinar is available on the Eurobitume website here.
Similarly, Eurobitume has produced an executive summary of the Eurobitume LCA for PMB and this is available here.
