When Alma Petroli joined Eurobitume in 2018, Sergio took the role of Member Representative and Senior Manager Representative, and in 2022 he joined the Eurobitume Board. Sergio has been active in a diverse range of Eurobitume activities and served as Chair of the PRC (Public Relations and Communication Committee) and as a member of the task force for the selection of a new Director General.
Sergio gained a master’s degree in chemical engineering from the University of Genoa and has built a 30-year career in the downstream oil sector, during which time he has held many C-level positions for Italian and international refining and downstream companies. After a period working in Asia, he joined Alma Petroli in 2016 and since then has led the established bitumen producer’s development.
Sergio is a passionate advocate for the sector and has a deep and broad understanding of international oil and refining markets.
