Eurobitume LCA Report 4.0 featured at Slovenian Asphalt Association event
Eurobitume’s HSE Lead Dr Anja Sörensen gave a presentation about our latest bitumen life cycle assessment (LCA) report, Eurobitume LCA Report 4.0 (2025), at the Slovenian Asphalt Association’s recent 20th Colloquium on Asphalt, Bitumen and Pavements in Bled, Slovenia. This year’s event focused upon future-proofing roads through innovation, quality and sustainability and brought together around 300 participants from across the sector.

In her presentation, Anja explained to an international audience of road, asphalt and bitumen industry stakeholders that Eurobitume’s latest bitumen life cycle assessment (LCA) report, Eurobitume LCA Report 4.0 (2025), can be used to not only calculate the environmental impact of manufactured products that incorporate bitumen, but also to conduct life cycle studies on products containing bitumen.
She also explained that Eurobitume LCA 4.0 was developed using methodology outlined by ISO 14040 and 14044, confirmed it is representative of bitumen production in Europe and is compatible with commercial LCA software – meaning LCA practitioners can incorporate this data as part of a construction product life cycle assessment.
Anja added that Eurobitume LCA Report 4.0 is also suitable for use when declaring the environmental performance of construction products and can be downloaded from the Eurobitume website by clicking here.
An educational webinar produced by Eurobitume in early 2025 explains how to make the most of Eurobitume LCA Report 4.0 and is available in English, with additional French, German, Italian and Spanish subtitle versions, on the EDUCATION AND TRAINING / Webinars page of the Eurobitume website.
Eurobitume’s website also contains more general information about the sustainability of bitumen which can be accessed by clicking here.
