Programme highlights and first confirmed speaker announced for E&E Event 2026
Following the opening of registration for the 3rd E&E Event, we are pleased to share further details about the programme and our first confirmed speaker.

Taking place on 11–12 June 2026 in Vienna, Austria, the event will bring together industry leaders to discuss the key challenges and opportunities facing the asphalt and bitumen sector.
Meet the first speaker: Dominic von Proeck
Dominic is a recognised expert in artificial intelligence and digital transformation. He is:
- Founder of Leaders of AI, a leading AI transformation academy
- A tech entrepreneur who built and sold an AI start-up before the ChatGPT boom
- Member of Microsoft’s AI expert council
- An author and university lecturer
In his keynote, “AI – Reinventing the World of Work”, Dominic will explore how artificial intelligence can strengthen resilience and reshape the future of our sector.

The 2026 programme will cover six key themes:
- Sustainable road construction in Europe – policy, regulation and practice in dialogue
Exploring EU frameworks, national implementation and industry action toward sustainable roads. - Paving the way to decarbonisation: data; pathways; progress
Insights on decarbonisation and Net Zero roadmaps across aggregates, bitumen and asphalt industries. - Next-gen talent acquisition and reinventing the world of work
New approaches to sector data collection, the European Women in Asphalt initiative, and the role of AI in shaping the future workforce. - Managing safe sites with a focus on emissions
Reducing emissions on paving sites, findings from existing pavements, safe handling of bitumen and odour management at asphalt plants. - Emerging topics: resilience, refining and biomaterialsSupply chain resilience, the future of European refining, and biobased binders.
- What can we expect: trends shaping our industry A high-level panel discussion on digitisation, future road transport, paving technologies and major megatrends affecting the sector.
