Shaping how to better attract and inspire women into our sector
Promising first steps towards attracting and supporting the progression of more women in the asphalt and bitumen industry in Europe were taken at a lively and productive Women in Asphalt Europe workshop held on the final day of the recent 8th E&E Congress in Budapest, Hungary.
A diverse mix of women and men actively participated in the workshop, which featured a very informative presentation from Audrey Copeland about the successful and growing ‘Women of Asphalt’ initiative in the United States, which she co-founded in 2017 and where she is a Board Member.
As well as bringing together like-minded individuals, who provided valuable input regarding what activities they thought would work to enhance opportunities for women in the asphalt industry in Europe, the workshop was also an excellent networking opportunity.
If you would like to be involved in the development of a Women in Asphalt Europe initiative moving forward, please register your interest by either sending an email to siobhan.mckelvey@eurobitume.eu or using the QR/link below to sign-up as a volunteer and act as a reference person for any future discussions.
The first meeting of the Women in Asphalt Europe Focus Group, which is open to men and women, will take place on 30th September.
