Siobhan McKelvey Named EAPA Asphalt Advocate of 2025
We are proud to share that Siobhan McKelvey, Director General of Eurobitume, has been named EAPA Asphalt Advocate of the Year 2025 by the European Asphalt Pavement Association (EAPA). The award was given to Siobhan on the 23rd of April 2025 in Brussels.
This recognition, established in 2017, honours individuals who take initiative in promoting the benefits of asphalt and effectively communicate key industry messages. Siobhan’s leadership has been instrumental in turning the Asphalt Advantages campaign into a symbol of the strong and productive relationship between Eurobitume and EAPA.
In this sense, EAPA Secretary General Dr Carsten Karcher paid tribute to Siobhan’s impactful career: “Your long-standing dedication to strengthening the voice of the asphalt and bitumen industries across Europe is exemplary. Under your leadership, the Asphalt Advantages campaign has grown into a trusted source of knowledge and advocacy. The successful partnership between Eurobitume and EAPA in organising the E&E Congress and E&E Event would not be what it is today without your professionalism, trust-building leadership, and tireless dedication.”
Under Siobhan McKelvey’s leadership, the E&E Congress and E&E Event have solidified their status as premier forums for the asphalt and bitumen industries. These events bring together professionals from around the world to exchange knowledge, discuss innovations, and address the sector’s evolving challenges. Siobhan’s vision and coordination have been pivotal in enhancing the impact and reach of these events, fostering a spirit of collaboration that drives the industry forward.
In her acceptance remarks, Siobhan reflected on the journey so far:
